Electric vehicles are being considered not only as consumer products but also as mobile energy storage units. V2G (vehicle-to-grid) technology allows a parked electric vehicle to feed energy from its battery back into the grid when needed. What Is V2G?

V2G is a system that operates over bidirectional charging infrastructure. The vehicle charges during cheap hours; during hours when electricity demand and prices rise, it sells part of its battery energy back to the grid. Which Vehicles Support V2G?

The honest answer to this question as of 2026 is limited: among the sources, the only vehicle concretely documented as actually supporting V2G, used with bidirectional charging stations, is the VW ID.Buzz pilot fleet. It is known that Tesla, BMW, Mercedes, and Chinese manufacturers will intensify competition with new electric models in 2026; however, we do not have a verifiable list of which of these models offer V2G support. We recommend that you directly confirm the manufacturer's bidirectional charging support when making your purchase decision.

Likewise, we do not have up-to-date data in Turkish on home energy storage scenarios either.
